MagnetSlot Beta
Fusion 360 add-in — magnets in 3D-printed parts without glue: an over-center slot in the part, press the magnet in after printing, done.
SHA-256: 1f039af57660bac5af10f3ca23e0266c889a8214c85ee1bd13e02f52f39d8662
What it does
- No glue, no pause-to-print: The magnet is pressed in past over-center — it pops in behind a retaining lip and sits in its neutral position, not under constant pressure, so material creep can’t work it loose over time
- Metal-on-metal snap: The disc sits exposed at the slot, so the mating magnet touches it directly — full strength and that clean, premium snap
- Save a magnet with a ball bearing: The same slot also takes a bearing ball — press one into the mating part instead of a second magnet and you keep the metal-on-metal snap, at half the magnet cost and with no poles to align
- A pocket at the click of a button: Pick the magnet size (presets for common disc magnets), click a face — the add-in cuts the matching pocket into your part
